Are your products food safe?

Yes. Everything is food safe unless specifically noted otherwise. I only use clays and glazes that are food safe and lead free for my functional pieces. For more information on the specific clays and glazes I use, please feel free to reach out with any questions.

Are your products dishwasher safe?

Yes. My pieces are dishwasher safe, microwave safe and oven safe up to 400 degrees fahrenheit. They are pretty dang durable, although I don’t recommend throwing them at people or hard objects.

Do your planters have drainage holes?

Pots without drainage holes are the bane of my existence! I mean, really? What is the point of having a beautiful pot if it is going to kill my beautiful plant!?

Lucky for you, I am a potter AND crazy plant lady who understands that happy plants require adequate drainage. All my planters will have drainage holes unless clearly and specifically noted otherwise (ie, hanging planters, etc).

You claim to have eco-friendly studio practices. Can you explain?

Uh! I’m so glad you asked.

I am all about our planet. Earth provides the clay that I use to make my art. As such, I feel a huge responsibility to watch out for its well-being.

I do my best every day to make decisions that are sustainable and responsible for our environment. Some of these choices are very obvious. For instance, I use 100% recycled and compostable materials to ship my products. All my materials are responsibly sourced (locally dug clays, locally mixed bulk-buy glazes, etc) and purchased in bulk to reduce the footprint. I recycle, I reuse - all the “good human” stuff.

I also do my best to find creative solutions to cut waste and promote sustainability. Here are a few ways that I put this into practice:

I strive to a waste-free and plastic-free studio. Instead of wrapping my drying pieces in plastic, I created reusable, covered storage bins with a layer of plaster at the bottom. This allows my pieces to dry slowly and in a controlled way without requiring single-use plastic products to cover them. Any piece of plastic that does enter my studio is either recycled or reused to give it new purpose.

I do my best to use my natural resources from the beautiful Pacific Northwest and incorporate them into my work. At any given time, there are large buckets around my property collecting rain water that I use daily to clean my equipment and my studio. I also make my own tools from dried brush, driftwood, shells or smooth stones that I find on the beaches of the Puget Sound.

I’d never pretend to be perfect but, gosh dang it, I do my best to be intentional and inventive. As new ideas occur, I put them into practice. I’m always striving to be and do better. If you have any suggestions or feedback, please share them with me.

I’m local and I don’t want to pay shipping. What are my options?

If you plan to be in my hood (aka Poulsbo, Washington), I will happily arrange for pick-up at my studio. This option is provided at checkout and will remove the shipping cost from your total.

Please specify when you plan to pick up so I can make sure I am around. I do ask that you pick up your order within 30 days of purchase. Otherwise, your money will be refunded, minus a 5% restocking fee, and the item will go back on the market for sale.

I’d love the opportunity to meet you in person, so please feel free to use this feature if you are able to make the drive to Poulsbo, Wa. If you are lucky, you may even get a big smooch from my studio pup, Indee.

Returns

All products purchased from this site are final sale.

If there is a problem with the order, please reach out to me within 5 business days of delivery and I will do my best to make it right.

Please note that each of my pieces are handmade and one-of-a-kind. No two pieces are exactly alike, even if you order a set. If that is not your cup of tea, I’d be happy to refer you to retailers who use molds and forms to create their work.

My piece arrived broken.

First of all, yikes, I’m sorry. This doesn’t happen often as I do my very best to ensure that everything is packaged to withstand the manhandling of the shipping industry.

That being said, ship happens. See what I did there?

I do understand that this is a huge inconvenience and I will do my best to make it right for you.

Please reach out and let me know as soon as the broken piece arrives. Please include a picture of the broken item and the box it arrived in. Everything I ship is insured for the cost of the order. This information helps me to file a claim with the United States Postal Service.

Now come the big decisions. I am a small batch potter and each piece is unique. If I have more of that particular item in stock, I will speedily ship out another. If I do not have it in stock, I will touch base with you to see if you are willing to wait for me to make another. If you do not wish to wait, I will happily issue a full refund, including all shipping costs. The choice is yours.

Again, I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and will do everything in my power to promptly make it right for you.
